RSS
What
in the heck is RSS? It stands for Real Simple Syndication, which
means that you can subscribe to a real short newsletter that lets you
know when changes have been made to the CAL-ILA website!
The RSS reader (Internet Explorer, Google, Yahoo all have free services) works like email with messages coming to you when there has been activity on the site. This way you don't miss important information, dates and events. You also don't get frustrated checking the website to see nothing has changed.
You can unsubscribe and remove the feed anytime!
To get started, check your tool bar at the top of the CAL-ILA home page.
There should be
an
icon that looks like the picture at the top of the page. The photo
below shows where the icon is on my internet explorer window.
Click the icon and you will be shown the update information and there will be links to the different ways you can subscribe.
Give RSS a test drive. I think you find that this is a very useful feature. A feature that will become more robust as time goes by.
