  WALKING FLEECE SHOW

This class is designed as an opportunity to have llama fiber judged on the animal. It will be judged by an ALSA Fiber Judge. Fiber will be the only aspect of the llama considered. Each animal’s fiber will be evaluated on its own merits, using the same score card as the llama fleece scoring card. The discernible presence of crème rinse and/or other chemicals will be counted against the animal. The class is open to both full fleece and shorn llamas of both sexes, all ages and all wool lengths.

Walking Fleece -ALSA Point Class

This class provides the opportunity for llama owners to learn about fleece characteristics, accepted practices for fiber management while receiving a professional evaluation and ALSA Point recognition of their llama’s fleece. If the llama has been partially shorn it may still be shown as the evaluation includes the prime fleece areas, Center Barrel, Shoulder and Hip. If all of the prime fleece areas are totally sheared the evaluation will be more difficult. The Judge is required to be a certified ALSA Llama Fleece Judge. Fleece Judging Criteria: 100 points possible.
