Cal-Ila Board Meeting
March 17, 2007
Held at UC Davis, Davis, Ca.
Present:
Greg Sykes - President
Lee Beringsmith - Vice President
Dennie Hansen - Treasurer
Mary Adams - Secretary
Margaret Ricci - Director
Meeting called to order 4:35pm
New Business
Welcome newly elected Board Members:
- Lora Crawford
Dennie Hansen
Robin Hester
Joy Pedroni
Margaret Ricci stepped down, but will attend meetings
Suzann Penry agreed to continue to do the website for Cal-Ila
MSP (motion made, seconded and passed) to change have Greg Sykes continue as President one more year.
MSP to have Lee Beringsmith continue as Vice President one more year.
MSP to have Dennie Hansen continue as Treasurer
MSP to have Mary Adams continue as Secretary.
Treasurer's Report:
- UC Davis annual membership Live Auction brought in approximately $1,600.00 and the Silent Auction approximately $400.00.
- CD's interest is being increased to 5% on the 26th.
- MSP to check into offering Pay Pal to our membership for dues and show fees etc.
- MSP to develop a policy regarding return checks
- MSP to try and get bank to wave bank service fees on amount of checks deposited etc.
Camelid Symposium January 5 & 6, 2008 UC Davis:
- The Cal-Paca board has asked that Cal-ILA members participate in the next Camelid Symposium. Joy Pedroni volunteered to represent the Cal-Ila Board and attend any meetings with Cal-Paca regarding the Symposium
John Mallon Clinic: April 28 & 29th at Ester Sue and Greg Sykes' Ranch
- MSP since Cal-ILA is to sponsor this event that it cover cost of morning treats, water, sodas and port-a-potty for this event
Scholarships
- MSP to have Lee Beringsmith look into ways Cal-ILA could offer a $1000.00 scholarship to Vet students at UC Davis studying Camelid health.
The next Cal-ILA Board meeting will be held at Grass Valley on May 27th, 2007, after the last show.
