American River Great American River Parkway Walk

  • Lee Beringsmith was able to adopt mile '14' for us as volunteers to clean up once a quarter. There is a variety of terrain and it just takes a couple of hours out of our day. We have a two-year commitment and we will also be provided signage with our group name posted on that mile noting that we are volunteer sponsors working to keep the river walk beautiful. This can make a great outing as well as doing something meaningful for others. Lee and Suzann will set up dates for this project and have them posted on the website.

UC Davis Inaugural Camelid Symposium was held in January 2006.

  • Margaret Ricci attended the symposium and the speaker was Victor Valise. Margaret has a CD with all the data covered at the symposium along with permission to copy it and print it's data. Lee Beringsmith offered to “burn” 10 copies for the Davis Membership Meeting and MSP to sell them for $5.00 each at the meeting or $6.00 if shipped. Margaret said there was a lot of valuable data regarding microchips etc. on the disc that we all could benefit from. We will have a binder with the printed material for members to see so they can decide if they wish a copy.
