Board Members/Elections
Every year elections were for two (3) Board member seats with two (3) year terms and (1) two year term.

Nominations for Board positions are taken until January 15th. A flier is then sent out to the Cal-ILA general membership announcing the candidates for the Board. The Cal-ILA memberships votes for the Board at the U.C. Davis annual meeting. New Board members are then introduced there.

The Board currently consists of 7 elected members, each serving three (3) year terms with at least 2 Board seats being up alternately. This insures an overlap of the Board, so no Board ever has 7 new Board members at one time.

To give you an idea of the required time commitment, this year the Board held 7 half day meetings in Vacaville. Each Board member is expected to be a chairperson on special projects such as ranch tours and State Fair.

Board Meetings
The Board of Directors meet periodically throughout the year to discuss and make decisions on items important to the organization.

Board of Directors Candidates
Cal-ILA Board of Director positions are 3 years in length.

Structure:
   President
   Vice President
   Treasurer / Secretary
   3 Director positions.

Individual terms served are staggered by year so that the entire Board is not replaced in a single year. This allows the continuity of the structure and ongoing projects to be maintained from year to year. The positions on the Board are determined by the standing Board members on the B.O.D. meeting following our Annual Membership meeting. These positions are held by the individual until the next year's B.O.D meeting which follows the Annual Membership meeting.

Through the year, committees will be formed from the B.O.D to help serve the interests of our membership i.e shows and other events. All committees and functions are not inclusive to Board members only. We would not run smoothly without the help of our General Membership!

Candidates for the B.O.D must submit a short essay describing themselves and what the could offer as a Board member... and everyone does have something to offer. The best way to submit your essay is to email it to the current Cal-ILA President or Vice President. We ask that all applications be submitted by the first week in January so that we may include it in the General Membership Meeting flyer mailed in late January.
