Shearing Clinic!

LLAMA SHEARING CLINICEstherSue Sykes

When: Saturday, April 30, 2011
Where: Wild Oak Llamas, 12187 Dogwood Road
       Grass Valley

EstherSue Sykes, for the fifth year in a-row, demonstrated how to shear your llamas for the hotter weather and for the show season.  Folks brought their llamas and shears to get some hands-on practice. Mary and Rick Adams hosted the event and "donated" several llamas that were used for practice.

EstherSue also showed us some tips on how to prepare the llamas' wool before shearing so it will be ready to go for processing or for you to spin yourselves.

This will be our 5th year having this event and it has always been a wonderful time and very beneficial. EstherSue is a great instructor and gives a lot of helpful tips on how to groom your llamas.  Take a look at the photos Tom Hansen took at the clinic.
