Nevada City 4th of July!
|
CAL-ILA Members and friends: Time to get ready! The July 4th, 2010 parade in Nevada City is just around the corner and we hope you and your llamas can join in the fun. In the past we have been one of the most popular entries in the parade. The crowd loves to see you and your llamas all dressed up in red, white and blue. The wilder and more colorful your costumes, the better. The parade is always held on July 4th which falls on a Sunday this year, so the start time has been moved to 2 p.m. Our meeting place is the parking lot for the county warehouse, which was a great place to park trailers two years ago. Please plan to arrive around 12:00-12:30. We will be there very early and will leave a cell phone on if you need to call us. Ken’s cell: 530-320-1870 Karen’s cell: 530-559-6431 Please don’t bring intact males unless you are very sure they can be controlled around females. Also, remember no throwing things into the crowd or giving out business cards during the parade. If we like, we may put on a 2 minute performance before the judges stand. So, if any of you have performance llamas that want to do some tricks for the judges, get prepared. We will also need a pooper scooper who can follow along and pick up poop if our llamas decide to leave little reminders along the way. Mary Adams did you say you plan to be in charge of that? If that doesn’t work for you, please let us know. Because the parade is in the afternoon, we won’t host a barbeque this year, but there is going to be a very nice patriotic show with fireworks at the Nev. Co. Fairgrounds that afternoon and evening. We think it would be fun to all go together to that after the parade. (Bring blankets or lawn chairs.) We have extra pens at our ranch, if you would like to leave your llamas at our ranch and then go to the celebration. We also have room if you want to park your camper at our place over night and we have an extra bedroom as well. I have attached info on the celebration afterwards. Questions- call 530-432-5246. Also, RSVPs would be appreciated. Thanks, Ken & Karen DeHart |
