Performance Clinic

Vacaville Clinic Saturday April 16, 2011

Margaret and Ralph Drew hosted a Performance Clinic and Open Ranch at their ranch on April 16, 2011.  While there wasn't a large turnout for this event the folks that did attended were provided with an opportunity to learn how to tackle the obstacle course at the next show.  They worked with the ranch's llamas and learned tricks they can use with their own llamas!  They even got learn what judges look and mark-off for on the course.  And everyone was treated to a great BBQ chicken lunch.

Overview of show rules (ALSA and ILR), course set ups, course dos and don'ts.

Ever wondered what a judge looks for?  Answers about courses and how they are scored.

Did you know that ILR allows and promotes that the score cards be displayed and given to the participants?  We had courses set up, llamas to play with, some really well trained and some that needed a little more TLC.

And everyone had a chance to see some of the great obstacles planned for the Grass Valley Show.

Stonehenge Ranch showcased their set up.  There are always different ways to do everything, so being able to share ideas and visit with other camelid owners and lovers was a great side benefit.
